forgotten elements

Ugly vents, chaotic rain pipes, disturbing power boxes - the crucial elements in architectural design?

We add three more to the canon of design elements: pipes, boxes and vents

Since generations of architects have already failed designing those problem areas, we have teamed up with AI to show how it could also work!

At a time when the design demand for these elements is often neglected, we address the question of whether and how such elements influence the output of a building.

We are convinced that there is a design potential in these often forgotten applications. The lack of motivation to integrate these elements in an aesthetically pleasing way can lead to a detrimental effect on the overall appearance of a building. This is where our approach comes in: We use an AI-based image generator (midjourney) to breathe new life into these forgotten elements and create awareness of their importance. Through this staging, we aim to illustrate that these elements can play a relevant role in today‘s architectural design process.

„forgotten elements“ not only demonstrates the creative application of AI in architecture, but opens up the question of how this technology can help address architectural design processes in the future.
